THAT Church is an irresistible place people are drawn toward. It is warm and inviting and that makes people feel like at home and at peace. We define the rooms of our church like a home.
The first room is the Foyer. It’s the place in your home that serves as the welcome area for guests and new friends. It’s the first step, and it’s often our only chance to make our guests feel comfortable enough to return. We place great importance on our Foyer environment worship services. We want our guests to come back, so we do everything with them in mind.
The second room is the Living Room. This is a room in a home, with sofas, chairs, etc., used for social activities, entertaining guests, etc.
When guests arrive and are welcomed into your home, you invite them into the Living Room. Everyone finds a comfortable place to sit, and the interaction begins. This is the place where you connect with people like yourself. Smaller and more interactive than the foyer environment, these gatherings offer genuine opportunity to begin new friendships… just like the living room in your home.
We create an atmosphere of relationship building for like minded people with similar interests, backgrounds, age groups, etc., coming together in enrichment classes to learn from God’s Word and to encourage one another to seek God’s best for their life.
The final room is the Kitchen. This is a room or place for the preparation and cooking of food. What does that have to do with church? Well let’s think about it for a moment. What is the most popular room in your home? Where do you end up when friends or family come over? The Kitchen! This is where lasting friendships are made.
This is the kind of environment we strive for in our I Heard THAT home cell groups. Cell groups are where people meet regularly for Bible study and prayer, and commit to accountability, friendship and support. A cell group is a safe place to open your heart, share your life, and ask tough questions. This is the room where real ministry takes place.
